Saturday Chillout

Today never worked out as planned – again. The original plan had been to go out for drinks with Gail and to see a band in the afternoon, but she was too ill from a strong antibiotics course, that we had to cancel. She can’t drink and was very drowsy and clogged up, so I put my Dr. Galbraith hat on again to make her feel better.

We dropped Laura off at her Grans for the day and spent some time with the in-laws. I was well pleased when my MIL offered to take Laura for the night. We got in touch with some friends, R and S to see if they wanted to come round in the evening and they were up for it, so me and Gail went out to Morrisson’s to stock up on beer (for me and R) and some snacks and dips.

We also went round to a discount store and asked if we could have any cardboard boxes they didn’t need. They had literally thousands of good size flattened out boxes and we took as much as we could manage. We’ll start packing them with belongings over the next couple of weeks for the big move in April.

In the evening R and S came round. Gail couldn’t drink so she was in good company because S has three weeks to go before giving birth to their first child. We ordered in an Indian for dinner. Several beers and a Chicken Madras later, and I was feeling just fine. We talked and listened to some jazz - it was good. Nice and relaxing.
